Exploring the interplay of color, emotion, and technology, my recent graphic design project, AI.ice's Colored Emotions, delves into the impact of color on narrative. Using web-to-print technology, I created a system allowing users to associate colors with passages from Alice in Wonderland, generating unique, personalized books. Beyond the immersive fiction experience, the project challenges established norms in color and language theory, questioning potential biases within AI knowledge.

Embarking on the journey of creating AI.ice’s Colored Emotion involved a profound exploration into the interplay of color, design, and emotion. In the initial stages, interactions with AI, particularly ChatGPT, allowed for the classification of words, their association with colors, and a deeper unraveling of meanings.
Central to the narrative was the exploration of a unique creative tapestry woven solely by color. Immersed in existing color theories and relevant literature, inspiration was sought to shape a distinctive process. Crafting a dynamic publication emerged from a questionnaire linking emotions with colors, with the narrative anchored in the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland.
A critical turning point occurred during a show and talk session, prompting reflection on the initial concept's depth and leading to the reframing of the research question. This shift marked an exploration of the process of crafting a hybrid publication and questioning the universality of emotional language and color theory through design.
Throughout the collaborative execution, ChatGPT played a pivotal role in coding and refining the booklet and webpage, with a keen focus on user-centric adaptations for a broader audience.
Looking towards the future, the evolution from a color-centric exploration to a profound inquiry into AI, biases, and user interaction opens avenues for potential exploration. This includes the envisioning of higher-quality publications, AI-authored narratives, and a deeper questioning of color's role in conveying emotions. The journey, rooted in curiosity about color in design, has transformed into a narrative exploration of AI's impact on creativity and perception, navigating the convergence of digital and analog realms.
